Free Comic Book Day Australia

Free Comic Book Day 2017 will be held on Saturday the 6th of May all around Australia.

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is held on the first Saturday of May each year. It is an international annual event where comic book stores give away thousands of free comics! Basically, you just show up at your local comic book store and they give you comics for free! No purchase is necessary and there are no gimmicks.

Each FCBD comic is specially made for the day by all the big companies, so unfortunately, you don’t get to pick up Action Comics #1 for free. However, Dark Horse Comics, DC Entertainment, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, and Marvel Comics are among the 37 publishers offering 50 exclusive comic book titles and editions for Free Comic Book Day 2017.

As you can imagine, Free Comic Book Day is popular with comic book fans looking for a new comic book to try, or for families introducing their children to comic books. Stores will be busy, so be patient and expect to wait in line!

Each comic book store may celebrate FCBD in their own way, including having sales, parties, and giveaways for best dressed. Dressing up in costume is optional, but isn't this the perfect excuse to wear your superhero costume again? Check out your local comic book store for more details.
