Book Week is a fantastic time in Australia schools. Book Week is all about celebrating books, and schools often include dress up days where students (and teachers!) come dressed up as their favourite book character. Book Week 2013 is August 17th to 23rd and the theme is 'Read Across the Universe' which sounds great!

Book Week in Australia, celebrates authors and illustrators of books that have had a great academic impact on young children and young adults.

Every year since 1945, Australia has held a festival celebrating Australian authors and their books. The entire community comes together to honor Australian authors and illustrators with a nationwide Book Week. Children in schools learn about these Australian men and women and become introduced to their books in hopes of instilling the importance of reading.

Costumes for Book Week could be made from just about any character you like. Our most popular ones for 2012 were Little Red Riding Hood, Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz), Woody and Jessie (from Toy Story), along with a whole host of other favourites including Star Wars, Star Trek, Mr Men and more.

We have a huge range of book week costumes to buy, so take your time browsing and get in touch with our customer support if you need some ideas or advice!
