Book Week 2017: the Best New Book Week Costume Ideas for Teachers

Mary Poppins Deluxe Adult Costume2017 is going to be a great year for Book Week! There have been many wonderful literary releases this year, and the 2017 Book Week theme "Escape to Everywhere" gives everyone much imaginative freedom. To top it all off, this year has seen the release of some amazing Book Week teachers' costumes! We've put them together in this handy list for you to check out.

Mary Poppins

This lovely lady remains a very popular character for Book Week! Possibly best known for the Disney movie of the same name, Mary Poppins first appeared in the children's book series by P. L. Travers, which was released between 1934 and 1988.

Willy Wonka

Who doesn't love this enigmatic chocolate factory owner from Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Now your can bring your favourite chocolatier to life with either the classic or modern version of his costume, which is also available in women's styles, too!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Willy Wonka Adult CostumeOompa Loompa

Also from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, grab your orange face paint to dress up as a funny Oompa Loompa! These factory workers help Willy Wonka make the chocolate and teach naughty children a lesson. Why not join up with a coworker and dress as Willy Wonka and an Oompa Loompa together?

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

These funny, bumbling characters are some of the most memorable from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. As a pair of identical twins and servants of the evil Queen of Hearts, they are mysterious characters who get in Alice's way.

Beauty and the Beast is one of Disney's most popular animated movies, which itself is based on the historic fairy tale La Belle et la Bete by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villenevue. Now you can dress as the 2017 live action version of Belle from this classic story!

This is another great idea for a couple's costume, if you want to dress up with a coworker in matching costumes. The menacing Beast from Beauty and the Beast may appear scary, but actually has a heart of gold.
